About Us

.

For the past 14 years Mark and Kelly Arnott have been making Burlington the place to race!!
The original race was the Downtown Dash in 1994 which took place in downtown Burlington and this first ever 5k race had 160 runners in it. We then decided along with our enthusiastic running groups from our store The Village Runner that we would encounter a Half Marathon which was put together the next year. This race started at the Oakville Village Runner and finished at our Burlington Village Runner. For that very first year we had over 250 runners with proceeds of the event going to Halton Women’s Shelter. This race has carried on over the years to become one of Canada’s premier half marathons with thousands participating.
VR Pro continued to put together new races every year including the Jingle Bell race, Waterfront Trail and Hannukah Hustle
In 1999 the first ever Burlington Marathon was initiated and the response was amazing. The Burlington Rock N Roll Marathon, half marathon and 5k continued for 5 years until it outgrew the city. There still may be another Marathon in the future.
Mark and Kelly hosted the Mayors triathlon and were the Run Directors and founders of the CIBC Run for the Cure for 5 years.
VR Pro will host approximately 10 events per year in the GTA and also directs many other races for organizations and has been instrumental in raising over a Million dollars towards various charities
